In SWIHA’s Associate Degree in Holistic Healthcare with Concentrations in Western Herbalism and Holistic Nutrition, you will become an environmental steward in your community by educating others to live a more sustainable lifestyle using renewable, non-toxic, affordable and accessible options, avoiding the overuse of costly medications and invasive procedures. It’s All Hands-On
In the Western Herbalism aspects of this program, enjoy hands-on, guided intermediate application and experience in arenas such as herb cultivation, research writing, teaching herbalism in the community, retail work, supervised clinic and botanical pharmacy. Science courses include Pathology, Homeopathy and Biosciences, providing the focused connection between body and earth.
In the Holistic Nutrition areas of the program, dive into cooking and taste the benefits of truly healthy foods! Gain a comprehensive understanding of the foundations of whole food nutrition and how it contributes to the prevention of illness and the promotion of optimal health. Understand the therapeutic properties of unrefined whole-food nutrients, develop healthy shopping habits, utilize high-quality seasonal recipes, plus specific cooking techniques, and more.
Applying Your Completed Degree
Completing this program and the receipt of an AOS Degree provides a contemporary formatted framework of all the appropriate training and experiences to set the stage to become a professional, successful, qualified business person as an Herbalist/Nutritionist. Need tuition assistance?
Since SWIHA is a nationally accredited college approved by the US Department of Education, students enrolled in programs of 600 hours or more may qualify for Federal Student Aid in the form of Pell grants and student loans. In addition, we offer a 10% cash concession on tuition for programs paid in full at the time of enrollment.
