What is Mind Body Transformational Psychology?
Southwest Institute of Healing Arts invites you to take a personal transformational journey with the Mind-Body-Transformational Psychology Program. The students who study at SWIHA come to believe healing is more than just one dimensional. Students come to understand real healing takes place on many levels - body, mind and spirit. This program emphasizes the power of balancing these three levels.

What is the curriculum?
Similar to the 600-hour Mind-Body Wellness Practitioner program students go through an amazing healing and transformation themselves as they learn to assist others in doing the same. Choosing to pursue the Mind-Body-Transformational Psychology Degree Program is not only choosing to go into business for yourself, it is choosing to design your own destiny.
The Mind-Body Core classes provide the holistic foundation and over view. Classes include: Introduction to Life Coaching, Hypnotherapy - Foundations Level I, Introduction to Intuitive Studies, Introduction to Nutrition and Introduction to Ayurveda. Also included in the Core of classes are: Energy Anatomy, Financial Mastery. Polarity Basic I.
Students really love the Psychology classes, which include: Psychology Theories – Honoring the Masters, Developmental Psychology - Awakening the Heroes Within, Psychology of Addiction – Understanding the Shadow, and Alternative Lifestyles & Diversity - Embodying Compassion.
As with all of the degree programs and many of the diploma programs at SWIHA, you choose a specialty that best expresses your 'gifts'. There are many choices available in the Mind-Body-Transformational Psychology Degree Program including: Aromatherapy, Cranial Unwinding, Hypnotherapy, Life Coaching, Reflexology or Reiki. The three most popular areas of specialty have been Polarity, Spiritual Studies, and Yoga Teacher Training.
This program is unique, in that it is a journey into personal transformation. Students who graduate from the Mind-Body Transformational Psychology Program will enter the field as independent practitioners or in tandem with licensed mental health care workers, hospices, hospitals, and elder care facilities. Your entry-level training will include: self empowerment, death and dying, developmental stages, growth and trauma, chemical dependency, various religious belief systems, alternative lifestyles, professional boundaries, and ethical communication. Graduates from this program may work in rewarding careers at elder care and mental health facilities, hospitals, hospices, and establishments that require training in; individual empowerment, growth and trauma, developmental stages, chemical dependency, religious belief systems, and/or ethical communication.
