When an obstacle gets in the way of a goal, we feel frustration, then anger. In Asian medicine, anger is associated with what is known as the Wood process. The Wood organs are the liver and the gallbladder. Anger can be a positive, if it is used to generate non-damaging action that results in removing the obstacle and achieving the goal. For example, think of a flower in a crack in the sidewalk, busting through the concrete, making room to grow.
Anger can be a negative, if there is no worthy action and we “just stew.” In stewing, internal “heat” can be generated in the liver. This heat can rise and cause tension and pain in the shoulders and neck, violent headaches, eye problems, a red face, and high blood pressure. It can also “boil” the fluids in the body, causing gallstones, bleeding, acne and red, itchy skin.
If vital energy is too strong in the Wood process, there will be a weakness in one or more of the other elemental processes. Most likely, there will be a weakness in Metal (lung and large Intestine) or Earth (spleen and stomach). So, when suffering from Wood issues due to anger, you also may experience troubles such as constipation or indigestion. Shiatsu therapy, Meridian Exercises and Liver Kampo (a Japanese herbal formula that supports Liver function) can nourish the weak elemental process and disperse stagnation in Wood, correcting vital energy imbalances, restoring harmony in organ functions, and dispelling anger.

Sometimes as Light-workers we can get phased by the monstrosity of the world’s challenges, the atrocities, and the darkness that appear to prevail in society. We at times can feel that we are losing the battle, and that there is hardly any will in society to grow. How can we help to hear the principles that have been echoed across the stratums of time by individuals who have experienced the Light and inspired others to open to receive it?
We must not be confused by appearances. There is more going on underneath the surface. A time of will, of effort, is close at hand indeed. We must keep our eyes on inspiration, on hope, and on love, or else we do the first disservice and put out our lights as well. Even in the darkest hour of disparity, it is paramount to have faith. In fact, in the darkest hour, faithfulness is the most rational thing to be. When heart's are hardened, and all appear to go backward, there is a process taking place and our knowledge of this can become our truest light to guide our own hearts. We must not become forceful, in trying to help others grow, because forcefulness is an act that belittles the intelligence of God, it undermines Life and is rooted in our own fear. It is not rooted in knowledge no matter how things appear, or no matter how rational forcefulness seems. It is true, things do go backward, but within a world that is only going forward. Regardless, the planet keeps on spinning and rotating. As circumstances, or in actuality, the people who have created the circumstances, appear to be going backward, things are on a deeper level going forward.
There is always a progression of Life, or of the Divine Self. As people seem to dwell in the same place, what principle is occuring is that extremes are becoming manifest. Out of extremes comes knowledge, full knowledge. When things seem to be stagnant and unevolving, the circumstances and people are building up the momentum for change, and developing fuel for the fires of transformation. Plants don't sprout overnight, and life wasn't created in one day. It is a process. Changes in the seed occur underneath the soil in stages, and soon, the principles of growth are nourished and the plant breaks through the surface layer of soil to see the light. So when hearts are hardened to light, it is because the lesson hasn't been learned enough yet. It's not been fully looked at from all angles. If people are still basically cruel and self-centered in the world, it is because there is still more to learn from the pain of it perhaps, or any other myriad of discoveries that are to be made about an illusion, and thus about reality. Extremes give us a very clear ability to see something for what it is, and when the collective mind, or the whole group soul of humanity, has had enough of a circumstance, then it will cease to exist. So this is why force does not work.
We as a collective are here to see things, to know what is what, to experience life however we create it. Until that has occured, the change will not happen, because the decision for force is made from a layer of thought not as deep as the place of awareness that is learning from the circumstance which has been created. When NASA prepares to launch an aircraft into space, it clamps down the shuttle, turns on the thrusters, and let's the fire roar a bit under the aircraft for an amount of time. This is intelligent. If NASA just turned on the thrusters and let it rip then the aircraft would fall over. But when the thrust has built up enough power, then the clamps are released and the launch is successful.
So we as a whole pay the price for evolution, for healing, for becoming wise. We must learn love. To know true love is to pay the price for another to become wiser, deeper, more authentic. True dedication means seeing that humanity is learning its lessons and that we are not here to force any changes we feel we would like to occur, no matter how lovingly we attach ourselves to other's processes. The path of peace is healing and connecting ourselves with greater levels of healing and awareness, of inner peace and true power, so that when others are ready we have the information to share. We are here to encourage and inspire, not to change. The rest is God's work.
There is much to learn from observing that when a plant sprouts, its inherent will is to lean in the direction of light. Rooted in the first biomolecular changes that occur when dormancy is broken by a little water is a Knowing of where to receive it's nourishment from. IT KNOWS. In the same way, humanity has the intelligence. Its natural drive is to have peace. Why does Tylenol sell so well? Because we don't like pain! Most actions, in fact, are motivated by the desire to get away from pain. Light-workers are going to be the prize of this country, and this whole planet. If you have stepped onto the path of healing yourself, of connecting with Light in however way you understand it, and feel you are on a journey of learning, growth, and evolution, then you are going to be a great gift to others. Keep working at it, keep stepping into those areas of discomfort and embracing the changes that life suggests as important for you. We have not come here for the purpose of money, fame, prestige, or to be better by hurting others.
There is no meaning in riches, to be rich for itself. It is so obvious for those who have watched and felt the call of their deeper instinct. Again and again through the ages it has been KNOWN that wealth is possessed in a wholly different manner, and that is a matter of fact that we can experience and dwell in this place continually. It is an amazing treasure. In fact, it is the very Foundation of existence. People have seen that before, but there wasn't a whole commonwealth as there is becoming now, to see what is truly valuable. This whole country is getting a large dose of the meaningless. Meaninglessnessis not of the soul. Truth endures; all that is superficial does not have the staying power as what is underneath the surface. Earth's core remains Earth's core, while the tectonic plates shift. Even mountains will not exist one day. Things that are large in our world today shall be broken down and utilized by Spirit for the construction of something amazing. Meaninglessness is the pursuit of what is not rich and the soul inevitably turns and faces its own self.
Disillusionment is what is occuring on the collective right now, but extremes must dive deeper to truly get it. Disillusionment has phases of progression for the healing process to become complete, and for knowledge to be integrated. The soul must come home, or else remain bankrupt. The values of the soul, the pursuits, the drive for meaning and satisfaction, all the precious longings and the sense for something more are the powers or characteristics of the soul which will take the world over like a storm. The power of the soul for healing is unstoppable, because the drive for meaning is of large magnitude. All will be engulfed in Truth, in the power of life, in the reality of passion. The soul is too precious for Creation not to cause this true transformation of circumstances. In fact, Creation watches with joy the events of the soul, internal and external.
The soul is the prize of Life. When all else has served its purpose, and the time of truth has come to fruition, all that is necessary is the fostering of it, the encouragement, the allowance, surrender, and admiration. Wow! What an easy job for those light-workers who have struggled and cared so much for the suffering of others. As a minority, with the sacrifice of less material reward, light-workers are soon blessed not only with their healing but with the desire that has been held for others as well. The time of healing has come full term. In this sense, prayer for alignment, for the inner self of others to experience all that is in accord with Higher Will, is one of the greatest steps to take.
Please don't hesitate if this work interests you. If you wish to heal souls and create a path for peace, don't hesitate. Invest your whole being in it. It has been the purpose of life, and now the time of Life's purpose is reaching fruition. This is the TIME OF INTEGRATION, of healing, of heralding wholeness on the planet! Amen! Amen! Amen!

Did you ever notice how quick we are, as a society, to look for what’s wrong in the daily situations we find ourselves? We have been raised to first look for or plan for the “worst” and that way, if we get anything better we can be “thankful.” Do you really need a reason to be thankful? If people, especially children, don’t act in a certain way – they must have some type of disorder. What is unacceptable about being an individual? When did expressing creativity and imaginative thought become wrong? Why is being energetic instead of being a couch potato a bad thing? Can you imagine the world without the telephone? What about electricity, the light bulb or Disneyland? How about the telescope or E=mc2 and the automobile? Then there’s the airplane, chewing gum and “Star Wars.” Do you know what all these inventions have in common? The inventors all exhibited the “symptoms” of ADD or ADHD. Some of our most recognizable musicians, actors, artists and sports legends share these traits – such as: Beethoven, Mozart, Stevie Wonder, George Burns, Jim Carrey, Robin Williams, Van Gogh, Picasso and Hemmingway, Babe Ruth, Magic Johnson and Greg Louganis. The list could go on and on. There are politicians, philosophers and scientists. What if these creative “lights” had been extinguished or locked in a box because they were different? What if all of these people had been given a little pill so they would act and be like everyone else? Where would we be today and where will we be tomorrow if we continue to “fix” what isn’t broken in the first place? In 1999, the Colorado State Board of Education passed a precedent-setting Resolution that asked school personnel to use academic rather than drug solutions to resolve problems with behavior, attention and learning. Since then, state legislatures, school boards and national organizations have responded to the need to protect children from arbitrary and forced psychiatric labeling and drugging, and to monitor the prescription rate of stimulants and other psychiatric drugs for children.
On 12/18/03, Arizona went another route and passed HB2024 which states: “a child whose parent, guardian or custodian refuses to put the child on medication or questions the use of a psychiatric medication shall not be considered abused, neglected or dependent for that reason alone.”

For the last several years, the media has focused on the increase in the number of young people that have developed eating disorders such as Anorexia and Bulemia. The blame for these disorders went to the advertising industry and their portral of the perfect body in their clothing, perfume, and food product ads focused at the younger market. Now there is a sudden increase in news stories at the other end of the pendulum. According to a recent grant opportunity posted on the grant.gov web site, more than 60% of the U.S. population is overweight and 31% meet the criteria for obesity and this is not older American’s – but children as young as four and five years old. The grant opportunity stated that 15% of children and adolescents met the criteria for obesity and another 15% were at risk of becoming overweight.
Even Sesame Street has jumped on the band wagon by devoting a section of their show toward nutrition. The government has redone the pyramid that shows how much of each type of food we should be eating every day. But is it all about what we are eating and how much? Why do we make the choices about the foods we eat? Is it that we don’t know any better? Do we need more education on healthy food choices verses those that are not? Certainly that would help – but – let’s go back for just a minute and look at another possibility.
If you were asked, “How much control do you have in your life, what would your answer be?” How many men, women and children are able to list the people who have more control over their day than they do? The names on this list might include bosses, teachers, husbands, wives and parents – just to name a few.
So what is the one area of life that each person can control? Even children can control what they put in their mouths and how much. For many, it may be the only area of their life that they feel they can control. Many people, young & old alike, resort to sneaking food or hiding it in their desks, backpacks, closets, bedrooms, glove boxes, etc. As parents who have just arrived home from a stressful day at work, how many of you want to listen to or argue with your children about what’s for dinner? How eager are we to give them what they ask for in exchange for a little peace and quiet? It’s a trade off – and the child is in control. The problem comes when this scenario repeats itself day after day.
Is there a solution? Recognizing the pattern and taking responsibility for our actions and reactions is the first step. Talking to your child, on their level, is step two. That means sitting down next to your child, look him in the eyes and truly listening to what he has to say. Next, involve him in the creation of healthy menus for the week. If your child is home alone and spends time on the computer, ask him to look up information on foods he likes and find different recipes you can make together. Print out the recipes and create your grocery list. Go shopping together for the foods you need to make these recipes. Determine what steps in the recipe your child can perform safely. Cook, eat and clean up together.
The final step is to repeat the above steps regularly and as often as possible. You will be creating a whole new relationship with your child - one that does not include a fight for control, but that opens up a new world of healthier eating and creates a happier atmosphere at home.
That’s one less battle for control that either of you will have to fight. Then you can extend this exercise to include breakfast, lunch and between meal snacks. Before you know it, your entire family will be enjoying feelings of overall well-being and balance in this part of your life.
