Aesthetics Practitioner

Southwest Institute of Natural Aesthetics (SWINA) is one of the programs offered by Southwest Institute of Healing Arts (SWIHA). Due to the way the laws read in Arizona, this program is independently licensed by the Arizona State Cosmetology Board, even though it part of SWIHA which is nationally accredited by ACCET (Accrediting Council for Continuing Education and Training) as a private college for Holistic Health-care careers and continuing education.

SWINA is located at 1112 E Apache in Tempe, Arizona, in the building immediately adjacent to the SWIHA main campus, with easy access to the 101, 202, I-10 and I-60 freeways. Our 6000 square foot facility includes:

• Student computer for studying and projects with helpful programs

• Full clinic floor in which to serve the public

• Student kitchen and break area

We are committed to providing a well-maintained facility, with a safe and inviting Our program has been designed to be an integrative, holistic, and "natural" approach to skin care. The curriculum offers students a broad foundation of classes integrating the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual aspects of health and beauty using Ayurvedic Theory as its educational foundation. The 'Feng Shui' of beauty is different from the typical aesthetics focus of the glamour/cosmetic approach to beauty, especially with the integration of nutrition and mineral make-up into the curriculum.

Our aesthetics program has grown out of our award winning massage college. The new aesthetics curriculum has been designed to produce ‘fully conscious’ graduates in tune with current market trends and well as in tune with their clients ‘energy’. - - You will learn state-of-the-art skin care and anti-aging techniques, including over 20 different facial protocols. You will also become proficient in waxing, a wide variety of spa treatments and cosmetic applications, including mineral-based make-up, featuring the products by Hylunia, Rhonda Allison, and Natural Beauty Highlites. In addition, our program also offers training in Reflexology, Aromatherapy, Natural Grain Microdermabrasion, and Cranio-Sacral therapy training. We are not your average Arizona Beauty School.
