What is Craniosacral Therapy?First developed by John Upledger in 1971 while he was assisting a neurosurgery, Cranial Unwinding, also referred to as craniosacral therapy, creates a balance between the cerebrospinal fluid in the brain and the dura mater in the spine. By creating a natural balance, the fluid in the brain can move freely to the spine, therefore spreading its natural healing power throughout the body. You will learn to relax tension, release energy blocks and open the energy pathways in the body, restore balance, and promote revitalization. What We TeachOur Cranial Unwinding program teaches you how to use your palpation skills, to get into harmony, resonance and rapport with the fluidic nature of the body. Students also learn how to palpitate the connective tissues throughout the body to assist in the innate healing process of your client. The SWIHA program teaches the treatment of the connective tissue system throughout the body, from the tip of the toes to the top of the head. Students learn how to approach the client with healthy boundaries, honor the person and their innate healing process, and create a relationship that is non-invasive and client centered. Upon completion of this program students receive a certificate that acknowledges they have met a basic competency in classical, contemporary and esoteric craniosacral techniques. Cranial Unwinding is offered as a primary specialty in MT 750, MT 1000, BW 600, and the Associates Degree in Holistic Health Care. This client-centered modality can be a transformational process for any client. Students also experience their own powerful healing transformation during the training. |
