The application of hypnosis or guided imagery is required to reach the subconscious mind and the wisdom stored within. Hypnosis is an altered state beyond ordinary consciousness, and a natural state that can occur spontaneously. Hypnosis can dramatically help with improving performance, health, confidence, relationships, sports, concentration, recall and creativity; chronic or acute pain control; overcoming habits, addictions, fears and phobias; self-discovery, stress reduction, healthier self-expression, and treatment for past traumas. Compared with traditional therapeutic modalities, the results of a relatively brief series of hypnotherapy sessions are often faster and more effective and lasting.

One essential key to the likelihood of getting powerful, lasting, fairly rapid results in healing is the practitioner’s training and experience including a wide range of methods to reach and positively impact the subconscious mind. Included in the initial 100 hour Hypnotherapy training held on the campus in Tempe, Arizona is a clinic open to the public.  Students have the opportunity in a supervised clinical situation to prefect their skills and confidence by working with clients.  The program is very experienial which it why students come away having such a deep and profound experience from their training.

There are a great number of approaches to the process of hypnosis that are exciting and stimulating to learn. Once in hypnosis there are a tremendous variety of healing applications in harnessing and transforming the subconscious mind. Learning more about hypnotherapy will substantially enhance the skills of ANY health, counseling or teaching professional. Many of the best therapists often use hypnotic methods to enhance the healing process, whether they use that semantic or not. Hypnosis involves a state of focused relaxation and in this relaxed state the subconscious mind is open to suggestions. All suggestions are previously agreed upon between the client and the practitioner before being administered.  Additionally, every suggestion given is the choice of the client to accept or reject. The client benefits the most when the desire to be hypnotizes is there, and he/she knows the environment is completely safe and peaceful.

Learning to create a safe environment is critical component for the Hypnotherapist to master.  From the  very beginning of their education students at SWIHA learn to understand and apply the elements of creating a safe sacred space for transformation while working with others.  Graduating from this dynamic exciting program will lead some practitioners to have their own private practices, while others use hypnotherapy in their already existing acupuncture, massage, psychotherapy, or nursing careers.

Hypnotherapy is accepted by the American Medical Association (AMA) as an officially recognized therapeutic model for healing. Completion of this Program qualifies you for certification with the American Board of Hypnotherapy.
