Master Massage Practitioner with Natural Aesthetics Specialty Southwest Institute of Healing Arts (SWIHA) is the only school or college in Arizona to offer a program where you can prepare to become dually licensed as a Massage Therapists and an Aesthetician. Dual licensure gives you the most opportunities possible whether you choose to work for a spa or for yourself. One of the options available in the Aethetics/Master Massage Practitioner 1000 Hour program is for you to complete your 600 hour Natural Aesthetics program first at the division of the college known as Southwest Institute of Natural Aesthetics, located adjacent to the SWIHA campus. (For more information about the Natural Aesthetics program (click here) Once you have completed the Natural Aesthetics program, you can transfer those hours into the Master Massage Practitioner 1000 Hour program as one of your specialities. In addition to your Aesthetic speciality, you will take the required core classes for the Master Massage program including Anatony, Physiology, Kinesiology, Pathology, First Aid and Business Practices. You will be taking the required massge therpay hands-on bodywork courses, including Swedish Massage, Myotherapy, Cranial Unwinding, and Deep Tissue Therapy or Release Point Therapy. You will have already completed 64 hours of holistic modalities from your course work at SWINA, plus you will have already completed the entire Spa Specialty. Those hours are included in the Natural Aesthetics curriculum. You will have the opprotunity to choose other electives to round out your gifts. The most popular additional electives include Reiki, Pregnancy Massage, Nutrition Foundations and the Introductory 20-hour course for Life Coaching. Imagine being a licensed Aethetician, dually licensed as a Massage Therapist, with additional knowledge in Nutrition and how it effects the skin and overall wellness...AND you have a strong understanding of the foundations of Life Coaching.
