Professional Massage | Master Massage Practitioner

Do you dream about leaving the corporate world and having the freedom to set your own hours? Are you a caregiver at heart, but not exactly drawn to the traditional medical field? If so, consider a rewarding new career as a licensed massage therapist (LMT). With the rapid increase in chronic health conditions in modern society, more and more people are turning to holistic modalities to relieve pain, reduce stress, and promote healing – making massage therapy one of the most demanded healing modalities today.

Why Choose SWIHA’s Massage Program?

Southwest Institute of Healing Arts (SWIHA) is accredited by the   Accrediting Council for Continuing Education & Training ( ACCET )  and licensed by the  Arizona State Board for Private Postsecondary Education (AZPPSE ). In addition, SWIHA is approved as a continuing education provider by the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCBTMB) . The full list of our professional memberships and licensing agencies can be found in our policy catalog .

At SWIHA, we offer two comprehensive massage diploma programs – both of which exceed the 700-hour requirements for massage therapy training in Arizona. Choose from either our 750-hour Professional Massage Practitioner  program or our 1000-hour  Master Massage Practitioner  program.

Employers look with favor upon massage therapists who know more than just the basic massage modalities such as Swedish massage or deep tissue massage. They want employees who are trained in additional specialty areas such as reflexology, polarity, aromatherapy, cranial unwinding, or even spa management.

At SWIHA, our massage diploma programs go above and beyond the basic state-required core classes. You will receive between 200-400 hours of additional training in specialty areas that interest you most, earning you Certificates of Excellence in one or more of the following specialties:*

* NOTE: Certificates of Excellence are not designed to serve as stand-alone vocational training.

As a graduate of our MT-1000  or MT-750  massage program, you’ll be eligible to apply for licensure .  In addition, you may choose to obtain national certification. Of course, becoming a successful massage therapist involves more than just completing a training program and obtaining your official papers. That’s why SWIHA offers a full-service Success Center , where all graduates receive our life-long commitment of job placement assistance, entrepreneurial and career coaching, resume assistance, and full licensing support.

In addition, check out GreatTherapists.com, where we will be featuring you as one of our future graduates. While you’re there, feel free to contact some of our alumni to ask about their experiences here at SWIHA. Next, stop by our alumni networking site, SWIHA Connections , where you can blog and converse with your fellow students and grads. More questions? Call 480-994-9244 and speak with an advisor today!

Need tuition assistance? Since SWIHA is a nationally-accredited college approved by the US Department of Education, students enrolled in programs of 600 hours or more may qualify for Federal Student Aid  in the form of Pell grants and student loans. In addition, we offer a 10% cash concession on tuition for programs paid in full at the time of enrollment.
