Community Clinics Want to experience holistic health care firsthand? Clinics are available for the public. You can receive sessions in Reiki, Hypnotherapy, Reflexology, Asian Therapy and Polarity, with students completing the programs. In many of our community clinics, your first session is COMPLIMENTARY! Come visit us at Southwest Institute of Healing Arts and experience the serenity of our college community. These sessions take place in a classroom, supervised by an instructor. Sessions generally last for one hour. These clinics are separate and an addition to the massage clinic offerings. Descriptions of the clinics are listed below. **Important Note** Scheduling for Community Clinics will start one week in advance of the scheduled dates Reiki Clinic Reiki is a complete system of holistic healing where spiritually directed life force energy is directed to various parts of a client's body for the purpose of deep relaxation, relief of physical and emotional concerns and spiritual clarity. The treatments are done fully clothed under the supervision of an instructor. First session is COMPLIMENTARY; additional sessions are available for $15. To book a session, call the Student Clinic at 480-966-4425. Hypnotherapy Clinic The Hypnotherapy clinic is designed as a capstone experience preparing students to begin the practice of Hypnotherapy. Students hypnotize volunteer clients for the purpose of deep relaxation, stress and anxiety reduction, easing fears and phobias, and addiction abatement including smoking cessation and weight management. Some students are trained to do basic past life regression sessions. The sessions are done under the supervision of an instructor. Weekends: Fri/Sat/Sun: 3/26 - 4/18, 2010 Clients are invited to participate in a supervised clinic focusing on advanced techniques of weight loss and smoking abatement, pain management and stress reduction. The format is a practicum where students work with clients in a clinical group setting; the group sessions are COMPLIMENTARY. Reflexology Clinic Reflexology is a hands-on modality based on the principle there are reflex areas in the feet, hands and ears that when stimulated, effect the relaxation and healing of the glands, organs, systems and body parts of the client. Nov 20 to Dec 18, 2009, 9:00am to 1:00pm Asian Therapy Clinic Students practice interview, assessment and application skills using their individual Asian art modalities, including Shiatsu, Jin Shin Jyutsu® Physio-Philosophy Seminar, or Tui Na Bodywork for the purpose of client feedback and results. Dec 1 to Dec 10, 2009 (Tue & Thu 5:00 pm - 10:00 pm) Polarity: A full holistic care system combining hands-on contact, toning, breathing and gentle techniques which encourage the body in emotional and mental releases through facilitated dialogue.
