There are various tools available to help you lose weight, and you’ve tried them all. You’ve tried medical diets, fad diets, exercise, diet AND exercise, nutritionists, pills, white-knuckled will power, and, as a last resort, perhaps even surgery. More likely than not, you’ve won the battle of the bulge on occasion. Wouldn’t it be great to win the war on weight permanently? It can happen!
The tools mentioned above are powered by conscious effort. This effort requires using the 10 percent of your physical mind known as the conscious mind. The conscious mind’s role is similar to that of a platoon of soldiers on a mission. Its mission is to battle your overeating habits and defend your weight goal. By itself, the conscious mind can protect your goal in brief skirmishes, but it cannot win the war.
When you depend only on your conscious mind, as soon as you’ve reached your goal, you will gain back some or all of the weight. This happens because the other 90 percent of your mind, which is known as the subconscious, is more powerful. The subconscious defends your experienced memories and habits. If your past experiences form a pattern of retreat and defeat, you will not sustain weight-loss victory. Face it, the subconscious mind is a great deal more powerful than the conscious mind – 90 percent beats 10 percent any day. Your subconscious mind’s stored experiences overpower and defeat the conscious mind’s recent victory. You then do what you are most powerfully drawn to do and that is to retreat as you have in the past – overeat and gain weight. You are defeated once again.
Fear not – knowledge IS power! Now you know about the power of the subconscious. How do you access this power? You use the power tool – you use hypnosis. Hypnosis, approved by the American Medical Association in 1958, is a legitimate medical procedure.
Hypnosis is an altered state of consciousness that lies between awake and asleep. It is brought about by using a combination of concentration, relaxation, suggestion, and expectation. With hypnosis, you go on a peaceful mission of personal insight, discovering your innermost reasons and past experiences regarding weight loss. Your conscious mind shakes hands with the subconscious and forms an alliance. Together they team up to create a new plan of action, creating positive images and habits that will result in victory.
Victorious permanent change is now the goal of your united mind, and hypnosis powers the treaty. Finally, you experience peace of mind and victory on the weight-loss front. You’ve won the war…permanently!
